How Knee Replacement is Done?
Knee Replacement is usually done under regional anesthesia.regional Anasthesia is something like the part which we operate becomes numb and the consciousness of the patient is fully normal big advantage of this anasthesia is, the patient will not have nausea and vomiting which is more common in general anesthesia. How long does this procedure happens? for primary joint replacement it usually takes one and a half hours and for revision it takes two to two and a half hours.before the procedure usually we prepare the patient for around one hour and post surgery we keep.the patient under ICU for a couple of hours after which patient can be transferred to the ward . i prefer the patient to walk one the same day or the next day.
